Dr Craig Coghlan is a Queensland trained Anaesthetist with experience in all aspects of modern adult and paediatric anaesthesia. His main interests include anaesthesia for urology, colorectal and thoracic surgery as well as acute pain. After completing the majority of his training at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital in Queensland, Dr Coghlan relocated to the Central Coast. He was appointed as a VMO Anaesthetist at Gosford and Wyong Public Hospitals in 2011. He also works at Gosford Private Hospital, Berkeley Vale Private Hospital and Brisbane Waters Private Hospital.
Dr Coghlan is committed to the development of local hospital policies and procedures including the formation of a sustainable clinical governance framework. He fulfils this commitment as the appointed Director of Medical Services at Gosford Private Hospital, a position which he has held since 2012.
In 2014, Dr Coghlan was elected to the board of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists as the New Fellow Councillor. In this position he hopes to contribute to the ongoing development of policies and programs which result in improved patient safety in anaesthesia, perioperative medicine and pain medicine.
